Prompt: Read the stories “The Open Window” and “The Monkey’s Paw.” Based on the information in the stories, write a response to the following: 

Explain how the authors of both short stories use language to develop the mood. 

Write a well-organized informational essay that uses specific evidence from the stories to support your answer.  SHORTENED ESSAY: 6(or more) TOTAL SENTENCES
