Vocabulary: Antonyms

Antonyms are words with opposite meanings.  For each sentence, replace the underlined term with an antonym from the vocabulary list on the module page prior or on page 342 in your literature book.  The antonym should make the sentence logical.  Change the form of the vocabulary word if necessary.

1. Macbeth's success in battle gave him a sense of inferiority.

2. He was willing to use straightforward means to become king.

3. Before murdering Duncan, his doubts and fears were few.

4. As Macbeth approached the king's bedchamber, the sense of fear was intangible.

5.  The Witch's prophecy served to diminish Macbeth's sense of ambition.

6. He learned the witches alway told the truth.
