Maker Space and Maker Mornings

Welcome Back Harris STARS! 

 This year in the library we will be having monthly STEAM challenge and Maker Mornings each day.  STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.  With these challenges students can use materials provided to solve problems or build a better item.  For example, our first challenges will be team building activities where students construct a variety of things working with a team.   They will make plans and predictions about how to best do their projects.  They will then test and measure the structures.  Finally, they will evaluate and record how things went and if they would change or improve their designs.  These activities will be optional after books are checked out during their library visit.  Each month will have a new challenge.  We are asking for donations to help make these activities possible.  If you would like to donate any of the things on this list it would be greatly appreciated by both myself and the students.
