All About Me

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!  My name is Marie Kester and I'm one of the dyslexia intervention teachers for Rustic Oak Elementary.  This will be my 10th year teaching dyslexia classes and I'm looking forward to another great year.  My students receive pull-out instruction for 30 minutes 4 times per week in the Reading By Design Program.  I have seen incredible reading growth with a combination of hard work, appropriate intervention and support/practice at home.  

A little bit about myself.....This is my 26th year teaching at Rustic Oak.  I've taught 2nd and 3rd grade as well as dyslexia classes.  My husband and I have 2 sons, 2 beautiful daughters-in-law and 2 perfect grandbabies aged 1 1/2 and 2 1/2.  We also have 2 Yorkies, Jax and Jill who keep us on our toes.  I enjoy reading, walking, going to the gym, shopping and scrapbooking.
