All About Me

Hello families! Welcome back. I am super excited to get the 2024-2025 school year rolling. My name is Ms. Villanueva and I will be your student's second grade teacher this year. This will be my eighth year of teaching and my fourth year at Massey. I graduated from the University of Houston in 2017 with a degree in Teaching and Learning. I am bilingual and ESL certified. And- I absolutely love teaching. I can honestly say that teaching is fun and can get exciting most times, sometimes overly exciting. My former students can attest to that as well. I delve into delivering the most high quality lessons in the classroom through a student centered approach and technology- the excitement that comes with learning and the anticipation in wanting to learn through technology, is super exhilarating.  It is definitely engaging!  I can say that my favorite part of all is seeing my students grow both academically, and socially. Their growth from the very first day to their last day in second grade is very intriguing. Second grade is the year where just so much happens. It's truly AMAZING!

On my off times, which as a mom of two beautiful daughters- Avery 8 and Cami 4 (upcoming third grader and pre-ker), doesn't often happen- I enjoy meditating, watching tv, evening walks, doodling, and learning.

I am looking forward to this new school year and building a strong relationship with everyone. Teamwork makes the dream work!
