All About GRADES

Please read everything and scroll to the end to learn how to check your grades in Skyward.

Skyward is the official grade book.

Canvas is for accessing assignments. Grades in Canvas are not official. Many Canvas assignments aren't officially graded.

Students must inbox the teacher with the name, date, and score of the completed assignment to request a grade change.

Assignments and tests scored below 70 can and should be corrected up to a grade of 70.

CANVAS and SKYWARD  do not sync automatically. Completing something in Canvas will NOT change a grade in Skyward. The teacher has to change the grade in Skyward.

 

After you view the PowerPoint, do these steps:

• Log in to Skyward.
• Click on Gradebook.
• Click on the blue number by math (the one that is highlighted yellow).
• Look at every assignment. (Scroll down!)
• Make sure Mrs. McMahon didn't make any mistakes.
• Check for scores below 70.
• If you see a little speech icon next to a number, click on it and read what it says.
• Go back to Canvas.
• Find the Corrections Module.
• Correct ONLY assignments that are scored less than 70 in Skyward. 
• Inbox Mrs. McMahon with the name of the assignment and your new score.For example:  Hi Mrs. McMahon. I corrected Fact Quiz 2 and my new score is 82.
• Repeat until you have corrected every score below 70 and inboxed Mrs. McMahon for every assignment.
• If, after 3 days, the score is not updated in Skyward, please inbox Mrs. McMahon again.
