Teacher Bio
Welcome to PAP 8th grade science and the 2024-2025 school year! This is my sixth year at Berry Miller Junior High. I have previously taught 8th grade U.S. History and IPC at BMJH and high school Chemistry in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. I am also the NJHS sponsor.
I graduated from Texas Tech University - wreck 'em! - and participated in graduate courses at Texas A&M University, where I also served as a graduate teaching assistant and disability services assistive technology and proctoring assistant. In 2024, I graduated with a Masters degree in Instructional Design and Technology at the University of Houston - Clear Lakeas part of a Pearland ISD cohort.
Before teaching, I experienced a wide array of opportunities to bridge the gap between science and the humanities, including participating in the excavation of the Binchester Roman Fort archaeological site VinoviaLinks to an external site. in northern England and serving as a paleontological lab volunteer at the Museum of Texas Tech UniversityLinks to an external site. in Lubbock.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, reading books, playing board games, going to the theatre, bowling competitively, traveling, spoiling my nieces and nephews, and visiting as many museums as possible!
I am excited to have you in my class and hope that you are looking forward to exploring the many wondrous realms of science!
