This is my 8th year at SJMS teaching 6th Grade Science and Social Studies. This year I celebrate 31 years of marriage with my wife Annette (6th Grade Teacher at AMS). I have 3 adult children (Nathan, Emma, Daniel) and we recently celebrated the marriage of my daughter to a wonderful young man (Brennan Peters). Brennan and Emma are serving our country in the US Air Force. Nathan works for Southwest Airlines and Daniel works for Amazon at their corporate office in Austin. I love traveling, reading, scuba diving, music, gardening, and spending time with family. I am also the Lead Pastor of Real Life Ministries (A Community Church) in Alvin, TX (www.reallifealvin.com Links to an external site.). 

I earned a BA in Biblical Studies from Dallas Baptist University in 1995, and MDIV in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) in 1999, a Doctorate in Communication from SWBTS in 2009, and a Master of Educational Leadership degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SOSU) in 2023.

  • CIA (Christians in Action)--This club meets every other Friday morning.
  • Chapter Book Readers Challenge--I am challenging my students to read 30-40 books this year. If you have any chapter books to donate to our class libraries we value the help. Readers are leaders and I will reward my top readers at the end of each Term with a Pizza or Ice Cream Party in my classroom during their lunch period!
