I am originally from Austin, Texas, having gone to school all K-12 years in Round Rock ISD and graduating from Westwood High School in 1995. I attended UT Austin where I met my husband Scott. We both graduated from UT Austin in 1999 and I began working at the UT Alumni Center while he completed three years of seminary at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in May 2002. Our first son Jake was born in Austin that year, and we moved to Conroe where my husband got his first job as an Assistant Pastor. I began teaching in Conroe ISD as a high school math teacher at the DAEP (the state name for all alternative disciplinary settings in each district). Our second son Ben was born in 2005. Our daughter Caroline was born in 2009, and in 2010, we moved to Pearland where I got a job teaching high school math at Pearland ISD's DAEP (known as ALA) and my husband began his ministry at Peace Presbyterian Church, now known as Peace Church Pearland. We have loved living in Pearland and having our children in Pearland ISD. Our oldest son Jake graduated from Dawson in 2020 and graduated from Sam Houston State, majoring in Musical Theatre (he was a band, choir, and theatre kid at Dawson) and is performing in or music directing for multiple Houston area musical productions. Our younger son Ben graduated from Dawson in 2023, and begins his sophomore year at UT Austin as a Music Studies major in both instrumental and choral music. Caroline begins her sophomore year at Dawson this year, and is an officer in Interact and a wind ensemble band member, playing trombone! We are a Dawson family through and through! I can't wait to teach my students this year, and embark on another journey of math learning with all of you! |
