About Me

Amy Petersen

Bio:

I grew up in Winter Springs and graduated from Oviedo, High School just outside of Orlando, Florida. Later, I graduated from the University of Florida with a  degree in Education.

When I married my husband, Jeremy, we had no idea the adventures the Marine Corps would send us on. I was able to live and teach in North Carolina, Florida, California, and Japan. When he retired we chose to live in Pearland.

I have 3 sons that surprise and impress me daily. Gregory, age 24, is a middle school history teacher and coaches football, basketball, and track.  Andrew is 22 and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in chemistry and is now attending Rice University to pursue a doctorate in chemical engineering. Matthew just graduated from Dawson and is attending Alvin Community College.

I am a proud breast cancer survivor, and I am so grateful for each and everyday I get to spend with my family, students, and colleagues. This year, I am starting my 20th year of teaching. I have spent half of that here in Pearland. I am excited about starting my 4th year here at Dawson.

Let's go Eagles! #Family #it'sbetterhere
