Teacher Bio
Hola students and parents! I am Señor Javier Vazquez
Vazquez and I am very excited to be teaching Spanish 1 this year. This will be my second-year teaching at PHS, though I am no stranger to the campus as I am an alumnus from the graduating class of 2014. As a past and present Oiler, I am filled with pride and honor to be a part of your student's journey to success. I graduated from the University of Houston- Clear Lake in 2020 and am looking forward to continuing my studies in the field of education. As your student's Spanish teacher, I look forward to helping them build the foundations of a second language as well as giving them the skills they need to not only speak, read, write, and understand Spanish, but to also have an understanding of the cultures and peoples who speak Spanish the whole world round.
As far as myself, I enjoy camping, biking, running, writing, prestige films (Oppenheimer is a particular favorite this year) as well as video games and making music. I was inspired to pursue my own higher education, as well as education as my career field, by my mother who decided to finish her degree in education and was a teacher with PISD as well.
