Do Pearland ISD students need a device every day?

Yes.

Students will use district 1:1 devices during classroom instruction.

What are district approved devices?

Is a Chromebook a district approved device?

Pearland ISD does not recommend the use of Chromebooks.

Are Chromebooks compatible with LockDown Browser?

LockDown Browser for Chromebook uses a Chrome Extension that can only be run in kiosk mode. Google requires that all kiosk apps be managed via their Google Admin Suite (a license is required for this product), and so the LockDown Browser for Chromebook app cannot be made available to students for use on their personally owned devices.

How can I request a district device?

Elementary and middle school students will no longer have devices checked out to them. Their 1:1 device will remain in their classroom. To request a device for a student in junior high or high school, please contact your student's campus.

Where can I find the Student-Parent Device Handbook?

Where can I find information regarding device insurance?

How can I receive internet at home?

Pearland ISD no longer provides hotspots for students.

We recommend the low cost options listed below; however, there may be other low-cost options for broadband internet available to families within the Pearland ISD community.

Pearland ISD is providing this information as a community resource and does not endorse any corporate provider or product. Please visit the provider's site or call to review the latest plans and terms and conditions as their programs may change from the information provided below.
