Teacher Bio

Hello and welcome to my class! My name is Ms. Chavez and I am excited to be part of the Tiger family. This will be my fourth year teaching science to 5th grade. My passion for education stems from the many remarkable educators that I have been lucky to know throughout my life. My biggest joy is witnessing student's excitement and curiosity as they explore the magic of science. A fun fact about me is that my favorite place to visit is Walt Disney World, and my favorite ride there is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

I graduated from the university of St. Thomas in 2020 with a bachelors degree in Education. I am also ESL certified.

My expectations are designed to make sure all students are held accountable in helping create a learning environment that is accepting and welcoming in order for everyone to thrive in their education. In my class it is ok to not know the answer or to make a mistake, but it is never ok to make yourself or others feel ashamed for learning.
