Berry Miller Junior High

Teacher Bio
This is my first year in Pearland ISD and my thirteenth year teaching. I have taught special education at all grade levels: four years in high school, six years in middle school/junior high, and two years in elementary school. I am originally from Virginia and have also lived and taught in Georgia and in four different cities and three different districts in Texas.
Outside of school, most of my time is spent with my family. My husband is a Houston native and we have two children. We love traveling and exploring the city. I also enjoy camping, hiking, and reading (don't all teachers love reading?).
I am so excited to be joining the Berry Miller family and I can't wait to see my students grow. I firmly believe in the ability of all students to learn and progress. I also believe that in order for students to be successful, it is imperative that all of the adults in their lives are working together in a collaborative and cohesive manner, and my goal is always to have open communication with parents and guardians. I'm looking forward to building relationships, expanding independence, and celebrating wins, big and small, with our Bobcats this year!
