Teacher Bio

Greetings!

My name is Shanna Thomas. I am a caring and experienced teacher with 17+ years of dedicated experience in education. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work, Master of Arts degree in Sociology, and my Texas Teachers Certification in Special Education (EC-12) from Prairie View A&M University. I believe in creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

In addition to my classroom teaching, I have been actively involved in the areas of volleyball, basketball, track, tennis, and cheer. I have also earned Coach of the Year in volleyball and softball. I believe in contributing to the broader school community and staying current with educational trends and best practices.

I am known for my enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to student success. I take pride in seeing students grow not just academically, but as individuals ready to face the world with confidence and curiosity.

When not in the classroom, I enjoy going to church, singing in my church choir, volunteering and being actively involved in my sorority, reading, traveling and spending time with my family.
