Teacher Bio

A little bit about me: I come to Pearland ISD from NETX in Tatum ISD. I was the 7th grade ELAR teacher at Tatum Middle School for the last two years and at Longview H.S. before Tatum ISD. I've been teaching English Language & Reading (ELAR/RLA) for the past 18 years. I've taught every grade level from 7th-12th grade in ELAR/RLA. After many years of teaching, I discovered that seventh graders are by far my most favorite grade-level to teach. I began my bachelor's degree at Sam Houston State University but returned home to graduate from the University of Houston Clear Lake with a BA in English and a minor in Reading/Education. I graduated HS from Sam Rayburn H.S. in Pasadena ISD with a scholarship from Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo and began my teaching career at Deer Park ISD.

I have two completely opposite and wonderful young adult kiddos. My son, Clayton (19), currently attends UT Tyler as a Business major. My daughter, Bailey (18), begins her first year at TX. State in San Marcos this semester as a Criminal Justice major. I have a fur baby, Jax (2.5), who is a wire-haired Labradoodle. He thinks he rules the house, but he's currently in obedience training to learn who is the real boss.

I love the Astros, Cowboys, college football/baseball, plain M&M's, & Dr. Pepper! I can't wait to learn all about you!
