Teacher Bio

Welcome to my teacher webpage. I am excited about teaching 7th and 8th grade Science for the 2024-2025 school year. My passion for teaching and science will hopefully inspire my students to continue challenging themselves in future science classes. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University at Galveston. (WHOOP!) I earned a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston Clear Lake. This is my 11th year teaching in Pearland ISD.

I loved being in Galveston while earning my Marine Biology degree! I worked in several research labs throughout college and at the Seafood Safety Lab in Galveston monitoring the bacteria levels in several oyster reefs around the state and in Louisiana. I enjoy herpetology (study of amphibians and reptiles) and have owned several different species of lizards over the years. I have a few classroom pets this year. Pluto is a leopard gecko and is very friendly :) I have 2 leachianus (leachie) geckos, which are the world's largest gecko species. They are about a year old, have some really cool camouflage, and will grow a lot over the next year, but they are much shyer.

My husband and I are navigating life with 2 kiddos, as we welcomed our baby girl in April 2023. We still have our hands full with our spunky 5-year-old, who will be starting kindergarten this school year. We love watching our kids grow and learn new things every day :) We enjoy being outdoors and enjoy all things car related.
