Teacher Bio

Marny Doepken, Ed.D., is thrilled to join the Pearland Junior High South team as a teacher! Dr. Doepken offers extensive experience supporting students' literacy development and leading literacy improvement initiatives. Her 22 years' experience in education includes various roles from classroom, to campus, and district positions. Marny strives to maintain a strong connection to students and understand current educational needs.

Dr. Doepken earned her Doctorate in Education Leadership and Master of Education Administration at Lamar University, where she was honored to receive Doctoral Student of the Year, Dissertation of the Year finalist, membership in Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, and TASA's Award for Educational Excellence. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration at The University of Texas at Austin.

Marny and her husband recharge by hanging out with their precious pups, backpacking/mountain climbing through the Yosemite National Park wilderness, and exploring Walt Disney World. She also loves doing anything with her two adult daughters and wishes they lived closer to home! :)
