Teacher Bio
My name is Ms. Chaumont, and I'll be Team University of Houston's Reading/English Language Arts teacher for this year! This is my first year here at Sab, and not only that, but I'm a first-year teacher! I've studied for a total of five years and taught for one year as a Clinical Teacher prior to this year. My degree has a focus in Reading, so I have taken many courses on diagnostic, corrective, and remedial reading programs as well as in-depth courses on how to best teach reading.
I am working closely with the other two Team U of H teachers, Mrs. Karnik and Mrs. Presnal, to make sure that we keep expectations consistent across all three classrooms. As of right now, I do not have any need for additional supplies from the students or anything like that, but I will be in further contact if the need does arise. I like to be in contact with my students' guardians so that we can work together to further the success of the student that we both now care about. I'll be updating you periodically on what we're learning in class, as well as what can be done at home to extend the learning beyond the classroom. Your child is in good hands. :)
My email address, chaumontc@pearlandisd.org, is the best way to reach me! I know time is valuable, especially in this day and age, and sometimes your time available doesn't align with my narrow window of availability to step aside and speak aloud. Email is the solution, because I can send an email on the go, and so can you! It also helps to have responses written out, so that my response can be clear and easily saved for later reference. However, I also completely understand when talking face-to-face is the way to go, so please reference my available conference times and reach out to me!

- 8:35 AM - 10:10 AM: First Period
- 10:10 AM - 11:10 AM: Second Period [First Half]
- 11:10 AM - 11:40 AM: Lunch
- 11:40 AM - 12:20 PM: Second Period [Second Half]
- 12:20 PM - 1:05 PM: Third Period [First Half]
- 1:05 PM - 1:50 PM: Enrichment (A Day) or Elective (B Day)
- 1:50 PM - 2:35 PM: Physical Education/PE
- 2:35 PM - 3:20 PM: Third Period [Second Half]
- 3:20 PM - 3:55 PM: Advisory
Conference Time
- Tuesday - Friday, 1:50 PM to 2:35 PM
Tutoring
- Thursday Morning at 8 AM
- Please have your student inform me the day prior if they will be coming in for tutoring. I will email you if I have need of your student to come in for tutoring.
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Morning at 8 AM
- A note from me is necessary for a student to come in for tutoring on these days. Please work with me if you want your child to come in for tutoring on a day that is not Thursday.
- I have duty on Tuesday morning, so I am not available then.
