Welcome to Chemistry! I hope we have a fun, exciting, and most of all, safe year together.

My name is Ryan Johnson and I am a proud graduate of the University of Houston. I have a bachelor's degree in biology and minored in chemistry. After graduating, I spent five years in research and development in the food industry before making the transition to teaching. I am very happy to be teaching at Pearland High School!

My goal for the class is that as a community of learners, we will all strive for academic excellence in a safe and fun environment. There will be lots of hard work, but with enough grit, I know we can all succeed.

Chemistry is an exciting branch of science that focuses on the study of the composition, structure and properties of matter as well as the changes it goes through during chemical reactions. This course emphasizes reasoning, mathematics, communication, and connections to everyday life.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for any reason. I am open to all questions, concerns, comments, and criticisms. If you need assistance, I am only an email or phone call away.

Thank you,

Mr. Johnson
