Mrs. Dies, Dyslexia Specialist

book.pngTeacher Bio

This is my FIFTHTEENTH year in education! I was a second and third grade teacher for six years and have been a dyslexia teacher for the last eight years. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in Applied Learning and Development. To further my education, I attended The University of Texas at Tyler and received my master's degree in reading. Going one step further, I wanted to specialize my training to meet the needs of students with dyslexia, so I worked with Neuhaus Education Center to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist. Literacy is not a gift, it's a human right. Giving students the tools to be successful in reading and writing is one of my greatest joys! I also love my husband of 11 years, two-year-old daughter, Dori, and three cats, Bubba, Tomás, and Frank.
