Teacher Bio

Mrs. Schiska is the 6th Grade Choir Director and 5th Grade Music Teacher. She came to Jamison in the January of 2023. Since her last name can be difficult to pronounce, she likes to be called "Mrs. S."

Here are some facts about Mrs. S:

- - Years of Teaching Experience: 10
  - Grade levels taught: PreK-12th
  - University: Stephen F. Austin State University
  - Degree: Bachelor's of Music (Concentration in Voice & Keyboard)
  - Favorite Colors: Green & Blue
  - Favorite Composers: The Black Piper (technically it's a group of composers)
  - Favorite Songwriters: Frank Turner, Felix Hagan
  - Favorite Musicals: Kiss Me Kate, The Newsies, Rent, Wicked

When she is not teaching, Mrs. S loves spending time with her family, working in her garden, reading, going to the movies and listening to ghost stories. She enjoys creating with her hands especially when it comes to fiber arts (such as knitting and crochet), baking (big fan of the Great British Bake Off), painting, and writing. She looks forward to a great school year and the new adventures that it will bring.
